The Anchor 04:58
Title: The Anchor Music & Lyrics by Peter McVeigh, Andy Dunlop & Mark Evitts Off to the sea again to float Like an anchor dragging on your hopes with me, I pretend that I can’t see your pain I speak the words “You’ll share my name The day that I return again” We’ll cross that bridge when I put out the flames Chorus I’m searching for life beyond this Island I’m searching for a place for us to thrive I’m searching for the thrill of seeing all those lights On the Horizon one last time Your love it shines bright and guides forward Those letters take me back to where is home And Home is anywhere that I’m am Alone Alone with… you Back to the hours upon the waves The cold mundane relentless days Where all I hoped Was that I’d see your face Lost to the world for a distant land For a chance to hold an outstretched hand And earn a shilling Fair like any man Chorus

Boy 03:35
Title: Boy Music & Lyrics by Peter McVeigh, Andy Dunlop & Mark Evitts Boy I chose your name to make you strong Make you stand out in the crowd oh not be just be another number Boy I read to you to make you smile But words can take your breath away So viciously versatile Chours: Your very first steps were your first steps oh away from me Your first kiss was one kiss less for me Your very first words were the first time that you called to me And every time you call to me i’ll always be there boy Boy I held you in my arms for years My back it changed its shape for you and sleep just disappeared Boy I feel your hand just slip away You walk a step ahead of me With your friends to school today Chorus: Boy I’ll hold your hand and slip away But know I’m always here in you It’s meant to be this way A boy arrived to you the other day You’re scared and you feel unprepared but you gave him a strong name Chorus His very first steps are the first steps oh away from you His first kiss is one kiss less for you His very first words are the first time that he’ll call to you And every time he calls to you You’ll always be there boy x 2 You’ll always be my boy

The Sea 03:13
Written By Andy Dunlop They say she is so strong and brave Flexing out with every wave Many ancient sailors graves The sea will save them all And what a day for us to swim Thunderous arms are closing in They're hugging us like kith and kin Pull us in below And I was wondering why Why should we float When you can swallow the sky When you can swallow gray boats They say the moon controls the sea Hand in hand in harmony Maybe that's like you and me Eternally to be And you will crash against the land 3 Turning rocks into the sand We'll do it like we always planned Just hand in hand, alone

New York 04:13
Title: New York Music & Lyrics by Andy Dunlop, Peter McVeigh & Mark Evitts I’ve been sinking slowly And It feels so lonely Since you’ve not been around. Had to leave my homeland To save my soul and To stop it dragging me down. When we reach the coast In our broken boats we’ll Head towards the lights. And we’ll fill our sails with Fine wine and ales and Tie one on tonight. Chorus I just got to get to New York gotta make myself a name By the time I get to New York I’ll find a new life start again. And we’ll look like ghosts In our thickest coats Because the winters so unkind. You’ll find me right there In a bar in Times Square With Broadway on my mind. Chorus Chorus So when we've served our time And see that skyline It’s gonna feel like coming home. I'll lay a wreath in the park To say you're still in my heart Even tho I'm all alone Chorus

Something 04:20
Title: Something Music & Lyrics by Andy Dunlop, Peter McVeigh & Mark Evitts Loss has torn me apart I’m looking for something to fix up my delicate heart oh my delicate heart I wish I had some kind of faith cuz then i’d imagine a place where you still were around I miss you being around Chorus Cuz I need something To believe in something Just to feel something To save me from myself, to save me from myself I don’t want the man in a suit trying to recruit While blessing my soul Sharing those stories It doesn’t sit right Like people die perfect But no body is perfect Chorus Love it can’t disappear Although you’re no longer here I still hear your voice (in my head) But i’ll always miss you being around Chorus

All Night 01:58
All Night Lets all drink and let’s be merry make a night of legend where we all be great not ordinary let’s stay up all night Brothers, Sisters come together Stay inside ignore the weather We’re all birds of the same feather Let’s stay up all night I see all my favourite people Are collected here in one place Let us dance and be happy together And we’ll see in the dawn face to face Let’s seize life, Live in this instance Brush away our sad existence Together we can go the distance Let’s stay up all night Lets Stay up all night

Waves 04:16
Title: Waves Music & Lyrics by Andy Dunlop, Peter McVeigh & Mark Evitts And I reach out my hand As you fall in front of me Pulled apart by the oceans We’ve only swam in the sea We’re both out of our depths now I’ve never been here before The waves are holding me down now Can’t hold my breath anymore I hear the darkness closing in I hear you calling out my name Oh I need you to save me As I’m pushed father away Oh I feeling it washing over me Now it’s getting oh so cold I hold onto the words we said See together we’ll grow old I feel the waves crash upon me now I feel the fear oh so close See no tears upon your face Feel your hand slip away Was alone all this time I’d Never had you to let you go Let the waves crash upon me now Let the waves take me home

about

St. Alban
A Scotsman, an American and an Irishman walk into a bar….the band St. Alban is born over drinks and a love of the mythology of sea travel and a history of emigration in a bar in Belfast. Three well travelled musicians, Peter McVeigh from Belfast (voice, piano, guitar), Andy Dunlop from Glasgow (guitars, piano) and Mark Evitts from Nashville (violin, mandolin, strings) who feel the symbiotic relationship between being on tour and the lives of sailors, adrift and yearning for home yet in love with the routine, the camaraderie and the thrill of the journey.

Their songs are borne out of such stories of travel, loss and the search for somewhere to make a home. Drawing from their many different influences, McVeigh from his many years as a singer/songwriter and from being a writer for hire for pretty much every genre from rock to hip hop, Dunlop from his many years as the guitarist for Travis and Evitts a twice Grammy winner for string arrangement and violin playing who has worked with everyone from rock through country. These styles pull together to make a unique sound that is as in love with travel as its creators.

A genre and continent spanning trio of musicians and writers, bolstered by a collective of their musician friends, St. Alban are just at the start of their journey, just leaving port, but look forward to you joining them on their travels ahead.
